Goodacre/Andersson

Since 2023, the acclaimed duo Goodacre/Andersson has performed on folk music stages and dance floors across Sweden and Norway. Their resonance-stringed instruments entwine to create expansive soundscapes and driving dance music. Ecstatic polskas, trance-like hallings and meditative song melodies lead the listener deep into the heart of these rich tune traditions. 2025 they released their debut album Vidd, named Duo of the Year by Lira Musikmagasin 2025 and nominated for Årets Folkmusik at Dalecarlia Music Awards 2026.

Anna-Karin Andersson plays the Hardanger fiddle, an eight-stringed Norwegian instrument traditionally heard solo. John-Francis Goodacre retunes his fiddle and viola d’amore to match the drone strings of the Hardanger fiddle, interweaving with its sound and leading it into new musical territories.
